POSITION SUMMARY:
The Jr. Estimator will provide and/or coordinate all support services to the Sr. Estimators associated with the preparation of bids and proposals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Bid setup, summary form data entry, and bid scheduling.
•Review and incorporate historical data from productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures.
•Provide take-off and technical support to Sr. Estimators preparing larger estimates.
•Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
•Heavy Bid maintenance (labor, crew, activity, and bid master codebooks).
•Solicit, document, and analyze subcontractor/vendors quotations.
•Ensure all working documents and data are maintained to back-up estimate figures.
•Provide award related submittals.
•Assist the contracting team during preparation of inquiries and final evaluation of submitted bids as required.
•Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
QUALIFICATIONS:
•Education and experience requirements include B.S. Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering and/or equivalent combinations technical training and/or related experience.
•Cost estimating curriculum preferred.
•Ability to work well in a team environment.
SOFTWARE SKILLS:
•Microsoft Office applications
•Trimble or CADD experience a plus
•Scheduling software/CPM (including Primavera and MS Project)
•Familiarity with cloud-based software solutions
