Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

 

The Learning and Development (L&D) Manager is responsible for designing, implementing, and managing comprehensive training and development programs that build the skills and capabilities of field labor, project management, and office personnel. Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, this role plays a critical part in aligning learning initiatives with organizational goals. The L&D Manager works closely with Posillico’s Talent Team, including the Director of Talent and Talent Specialist, as well as cross-functional partners to support employee growth, operational excellence, talent retention, and a culture of continuous learning across the company.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Training Program Development & Management

  • Design, implement, and manage technical, leadership, and professional development programs for project engineers, project managers, and field labor.
  • Develop and maintain a structured training program for non-union field personnel, incorporating tools like BuildWitt Training to enhance skills development and progression tracking.
  • Lead Train-the-Trainer programs to cultivate internal subject matter experts.
  • Manage the full life-cycle of training programs: needs assessment, design, delivery, and evaluation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Talent Team on all learning and development strategies to ensure alignment with broader talent initiatives.
  • Work with the Director of Talent to ensure learning efforts are integrated with talent development and career pathing strategies.
  • Partner with the Talent Specialist to coordinate training logistics, scheduling, communication, and implementation support.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership, including Safety, to identify skill gaps and training needs.
  • Coordinate with departments such as Risk, Legal, Safety, HR, and Accounting to align and centralize company-wide training efforts.
  • Partner with HR and Business Intelligence teams to support data-informed learning strategies and deployment.

Content Development & Learning Tools

  • Work with HR and Business Intelligence teams to develop interdepartmental and project management training delivered via the Bridge LMS.
  • Create and maintain learning paths and content for project management and support functions across the organization.
  • Integrate and manage field-focused training through BuildWitt, ensuring role-specific learning and compliance with field safety and operational standards.
  • Keep training content current and aligned with company policies, compliance regulations, and evolving role expectations.

Talent Development & Career Pathing

  • Collaborate with the Talent Team to define career paths and development frameworks across field and office roles.
  • Support employee growth by linking learning modules with advancement opportunities.
  • Develop and apply competency models; assess employee skills before and after training to measure progress and guide future learning.

Compliance & Evaluation

  • Ensure training programs meet all applicable federal, state, and client-specific requirements.
  • Regularly evaluate training effectiveness using metrics, feedback, and performance data to improve outcomes and learning experiences.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, Construction Management, Education, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in training, learning & development, or organizational development, preferably in construction, engineering, or a technical environment.
  • Proven success in designing and implementing technical training programs, particularly for project management and field operations roles.
  • Experience delivering training through learning management systems (LMS); Bridge LMS and BuildWitt Training Platform experience is a plus.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, written and oral communication skills with the ability to engage learners across a range of roles and experience levels.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective cross-functional partnerships, operating with a service-oriented mindset.
  • Solid understanding or exposure to the construction environment.

Reports to: Vice President of Human Resources

Location: Corporate Office: Farmingdale, NY

Travel: Travel to regions when necessary to facilitate training programs. (Approx. 25-30%) 

Base Salary: $100,000 to $130,000 commensurate with experience
