Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Asphalt Plant Quality Control Manager is responsible for ensuring all materials and finished products conform to applicable company standards and laws.


• Responsible for supporting the design and approval of asphalt mixes used when paving commercial and municipal projects.
• Monitor and validate the material during production to ensure the asphalt meets standard specifications set by the TX DOT and other municipalities.
• Work with inspectors, engineers, and representatives of our customers and maintain smooth lines of communication and record keeping.
• Perform proctor and soil analysis on samples delivered to the lab.
• Assist in the maintenance of the plant and laboratory equipment as needed.
• Responsible for keeping accurate records of stockpiled materials used for asphalt production and processed fills.
• Monitor delivery tickets and production records.
• Troubleshooting and testing of production materials.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
• Experience as Construction Field Inspector a plus.
• Certified by TXDOT as QC/QA Technician a plus.
• Level 1A and Level 2 Certificates
• The ideal candidate will have great interpersonal skill and the ability to communicate clearly with people from all sides of the construction industry.
• Basic computer skills with knowledge of Excel and Word.
• Must be capable of lifting material sample bucks of approximately 25-75lbs.
• Must be willing to work overnight shifts as needed and travel.
