POSITION OULINE:
The Asphalt Plant Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the asphalt plant(s) and tasked to manage the plant(s) in a safe, productive, and cost-effective manner.
• Oversee set up of asphalt plant(s) and get fully operational.
• Manage all asphalt plant staff.
• Coordinate daily schedule with dispatch for ordering of materials and production of material.
• Manage costs, overheads and all factors affecting the profitable performance of the plant(s).
• Report on plans, sales, costs and performance.
• Ensure operations remain in compliance with all applicable environmental standards.
• Ensure that employees are working efficiently and consistent with company policies and guidelines.
• Consistently monitors areas to ensure safety and assure safe working habits and conditions.
• Manage and control all expenditures associated with the plant(s).
• Manage Quality Control technician and schedule all material testing with appropriate departments.
• Manage and respond to customer inquiries and/or needs.
• Oversee daily batching operation.
• Develop and implement new ideas to increase productivity and lower costs.
• Operate Equipment in plant when necessary.
• Manage upkeep and condition of all equipment at plant.
• Manage health and safety as well as security at plant.
• Attend meetings and contribute to company strategy and policymaking.
• Develop personal skills and capability through on-going training.
• Travel to each location as required.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Minimum of 5 years of related operations, supervisory and construction experience.
• Level 1A and Level 2 Certificates
• Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented, excellent interpersonal skills and have excellent follow-through capability.
• Verbal and written communication skills are essential to this position.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.
